The rest of Chile and the beginning of Bolivia
A promising trip to the bustling beach resort of Bahia Ingles. Unfortunately, it was the off season.
Mucho viento #2!
Ok, so this was taken on our Salt Flat tour from Chile to Bolivia. Beauuutiful.
Along the way on our first day.
Indigenous art museum in Sucre. Where we are now!
The view from the bus in the Atacama Desert.
Visiting the Chuquicamata mine, the world´s biggest open pit copper mine. Fun! Acutally though.
Some scenery from around San Pedro de Atacama, Chile.
More lanscape.
Mucho viento #2!
This picture is out of order, but it was when we went horseback riding in Bolivia, more details to follow.
Our first taste of Bolivia.
Again, pictures are out of order, this is back in Chile in the Atacam Desert.

Vicunas and flamingoes hanging out.
Happy!
Yet another lagoon on the tour.
Salt mounds for salt mining on the salt flats.
Pictures from our two day horeback trip in Tupiza.
Along the way on our first day.
One of many river crossings.
We rode through many small villages.
This is inside a mine in Potosi, Bolivia. Miners worship these shrines by giving them cigarettes, alcohol, coca leaves, etc.
The mountain where the mining is done, and a bit of a view of Potosi.
Indigenous art museum in Sucre. Where we are now!

The rest of Chile and the beginning of Bolivia TAKE 2!
While I (Meaghan) was bed- and bathroom-ridden for 2 days (too much information?) Julian posted photos from his camera... here are some from mine.
Geysers during our Uyuni Salt Flat tour (Bolivia).

Flamingo; Salt Flat tour.

Julian climbed some rock formations, I took a photo. Salt Flat tour.

The elevation was pretty high (about 4800m) so it was cold. And we got crazy headaches the first night.

The Uyuni Salt Flat is about 12,000km2. So flat. So salty.

Who knew we´d find a gigantic nalgene in the middle of it?

In the middle of the Uyuni Salt Flat is an island covered in cacti.

This is my token photo from our 2-day horse trek near Tupiza, Bolivia. Given that our guide would whistle our horses into a full speed gallop without any warning, I was rarely brave enough to take my attention away from my horse long enough to take photos.
